NO WAG's IN SRI LANKA

BCCI has decided to stop the Indian players taking their wives and girlfriends along with them on the Sri Lanka tour scheduled to start next month, The Indian Express   reported this.

"Most of the players on tour are just coming off a month-long break where they had enough time to spend with their families. And we've decided that their wives will not be allowed on tour," a top BCCI official told the Newspaper.

Major players of the team have enjoyed almost a month break post Bangladesh tour which makes the decision even easier for the board.

Team India will also be without a head coach in Sri Lanka as no head coach has been appointed yet. As per reports,Team director Ravi Shastri may not be with the team for the tour game beginning August 6. Shastri is in england for Sky Sports as a TV analyst for the Ashes. He will join the team in the second week of august before 1st test begins.

The Indian Express also reported  that Shastri couldn't be held responsible for missing the tour game as the BCCI had advanced the Test series while finalising the itinerary. He had by then already signed the contract with Sky

"Ravi Shastri will join the team a bit late as he is presently a pundit on a post-match show on Sky Sports for the Ashes series. He had informed the BCCI about it and as we finalised the itinerary a bit late, he had already taken permission to skip the early part," a BCCI official reportedly said.
