Irani on Friday criticised the Congress party over its youth activists' conduct
during a
protest against Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan.
"Boys from the
Congress took off their shirts and protested against the Speaker. Lok Sabha
Speaker is Parliament's pride. Is this the respect the Congress has for women?
Is this what Rahul Gandhi preaches to the Congress?" Taking a Pot shot at
Congress Vice President She said on Friday.
She also slammed the
Congress for questioning the Naga peace accord, and opposing the Goods and
Services Tax (GST) bill.
"The Naga peace
accord has gone down the pages of history. The Congress wants to deny
it..." she said.
"The GST will usher
in an economic revolution. Why are they opposing it?" the union minister
added.
Smriti Irani said that
"people of the country will not forgive those blocking parliament to stall
growth."
