 China, a mysterious and beautiful land, always appeals us as foreign visitors. 
 As the third largest country in the world occupying an area of 9,600,000 sq km,
 it spans 62 degrees of longitude and 49 degrees of latitude. A wide variety of 
 terrain and climate shape its numerous natural attractions. Abundant in a 
 variety of resources, plants, animals, and minerals, the land has nurtured 
 countless generations of Chinese people, but there are certain facts about china
 which can blow our minds.
 Below are few interesting facts about china which may surprise us-


1)Chinese Soldiers have tiny nail clipped in their Army 
   Uniform to make them awake on duty.

   In case the Royal Army members feel the need to take a snooze on the              job, a tiny nail like the one seen here will remind them that sleeping is not          part of the job requirement.




2)  Ketchups are Originated from China

While ketchup seems like it is west originated, fact is, it is born in China with its maiden name  "ke-tsiap".




3) China Loves Execution


   Unfortunate but a fact,China Just loves killing people. It may be their            consistent fight with high rise in population that could be the reason,            China is said to execute four times more people than other countries            combined.



4) Eggs boiled in Urine

   
      Virgin boy eggs are a traditional delicacy of China made by                     cooking egg in urine collected from young boys. Every year in early         spring time, the urine of boys under 10 years is  collected and                 boiled with egg and sold with premium. In 2008, they have                     recognized this as “Local intangible culture    heritage”






5) Geese a strange night eye for china police preferred over          dog

    

    Instead of  dogs/canines that you might see working for police           forces internationally, the Chinese police use geese. They feel           Geese are more aggressive and have far better intelligence than       canines,believe it or not.




6) Housing is a Mess

    Nearly 30 million Chinese residents live in cave-like dwellings       such as the one seen here. Few places they have refused             government housing to continue living in caves




7) Air Pollution is Terribly Bad


    Air pollution has become a major problem in China, and poses     a threat to Chinese public health. As per reports, it is                   equivalent to breathing in 21 cigarettes daily
