Motorola launches its Cheapest phone, with a 21MP camera , MOTO X Play for RS.18,499

Motorola launched  its third generation Moto X today at an event in Delhi in the form of the Moto X Play for Rs. 18,499 for 16 GB version and Rs. 19,999 for 32 GB version.
Its the cheapest smartphone with 21mp camera and 30 hrs battery life promise by the company.
Earlier,  the original Moto X was launched at the price of 23,999. Later on the second Moto X was launched in India for 31,999 ( for 16 GB) and 32,999( for 32 GB).

The Moto X's sale starts on Flipart at midnight tonight. Motorola will sell the Turbo charger for Moto X Play separately.

Motorola's director product management Carl Steen said they are still  waiting for the codes from Google for new Android M update.

“However, we will be first to roll out Android M whenever next version comes, possibly by Q1 2016,” Steen added.

If this was  the reply to the sub 20k Chinese  Smartphone flooding the  market.
Motorola India general manager Amit Boni said that wasn’t the case.
“We have always made phones keeping in mind the end consumer. We have tried to keep pricing competitive in all generations. Honestly, we don’t decide the prices of our phones looking at competition because we do not want to compromise on quality expected from our phones. We try and sell our phones close to cost,” he said.
During the launch Boni had indicated that the Moto X Style would also be launched in the Indian market soon. On being asked if the Moto X Style or the Moto X Pure would see the 30k pricing, Boni told us that the Moto X Play pricing is not a precursor to the pricing of the Moto X Style. He did not give an exact timeframe for the launch of the Moto X Style.
