Indian cricket team’s ace spinner, Harbhajan Singh, and film actress, Geeta Basra, have been in a relationship for quite some time. And, it is now believed that the two are all set to take their relationship to the next level. Yes, as per various reports, Harbhajan Singh and Geeta Basra will be tying the knot in October this year.
So, for all the fans and well-wishers of this lovely couple, here we get some more inside details.
Wedding date
Reportedly, the cricketer, who is presently in Sri Lanka for the ongoing test series, will be tying the knot with his lady love on October 29, this year. The five-day wedding celebrations will see Harbhajan and Geeta hosting ceremonies like chooda, sangeet,haldi and nuptials. According to the sources, the wedding preparations have already started. In fact, Geeta’s parents will be flying down soon from London to plan out the festivities. However, it is also believed that the date might get changed if the cricketer is selected for the upcoming series with South Africa, which will take place in India, starting October 2.
Wedding venue
As per various reports, Harbhajan and Geeta’s wedding will take place in Hotel Club Cabana, in Phagwara, Punjab, which is around 20 km away from his hometown, Jalandhar. In fact, in a report by Hindustan Times, a senior official from Club Cabana confirmed the booking that has been made by the cricketer’s family for an event. The official has been quoted as saying:
“'We have been booked for an event. We cannot disclose anything as we have been asked to maintain confidentiality.”
The same report states that all the wedding related preparation tasks will start once the cricketer comes back from Sri Lanka.
Wedding Reception
Unlike the wedding, the couple will host their reception party in Delhi, on November 1, 2015. Harbhajan’s friends and players from the Indian cricket team as well as Geeta’s film fraternity colleagues are all expected to attend the wedding reception.
Well, while the two have been quite secretive about their relationship, it has always been pretty evident from their appearances together at various events. Interestingly, Harbhajan even made a guest appearance in Geeta’s last movie, Second Hand Husband, starring Gippy Grewal and Dharmedra. Now, isn’t that sweet?
